Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Puno

Upon your arrival at Juliaca´s Airport, our staff will transfer you to the city of Puno, to accommodate you at the hotel you have previously booked. Then, you´ll enjoy a free afternoon, to get acclimatized or, if you wish, to go on a stroll around the lake-side city of Puno. Overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 2: Visit to the Uros and Amantani Islands

After breakfast, and at the indicated time, our staff will pick you up at your hotel, to transfer you to Lake Titicaca´s Port. Then, enjoy a 45-minute motor-boat ride that will take us to the Uros´ Floating Islands, where their inhabitants will explain their way of life to us, as well as their hunting and fishing techniques, and will show us their handicraft, while they answer our questions about how they manage to live and sustain their families, on these floating islands.

Then, we´ll continue our boat trip to Amantani Island´s dock, where local families will be awaiting, to welcome us and, once we´ll know what family we´ll be staying with, we´ll start walking on picturesque trails that will take us to their respective houses, to have lunch, around 1:30 p.m.

In the afternoon, we´ll start hiking towards the island´s upper part, crossing crop fields, on a paved path that will take us to the ‘Pachatata Vantage Point’. Indeed, that hill has been a Sacred Site, where the island´s inhabitants have worshipped their divinities for many centuries. From there, we´ll enjoy magnificent views of dusk on Lake Titicaca and its islands.

Afterwards, we´ll savor an exquisite dinner, and will dance with local inhabitants (typical dances and clothes) who have organized this event, in honor to their visitors. Finally, we´ll spend the night at the family-house.

Day 3: Visit to Taquile Island and Return to Puno

After breakfast, we´ll depart aboard a motorized boat bound to Taquile Island, where we´ll arrive around 9:00 O´clock. Once there, we´ll follow an uphill path, with stairs, that will lead us to the island´s main village, on a one-hour hike that will give us plenty of chances to take beautiful pictures of Lake Titicaca and the island´s agricultural benched terraces.

At some point, on the way, we´ll meet a group of local men and women who will show us their art of threading wool, and weaving it, as these traditional weavers will teach us the technique they use, to dye sheep wool, the meaning of their designs and the use of native plants, to wash or give different colors to the wool. Around noon, we´ll enjoy a delicious lunch, at a local community restaurant, in the village of Taquile.

After lunch, we´ll return to the dock, walking on a downhill path, and will depart from Taquile Island, around 1:30 p.m., to reach Puno´s lake port between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. There, we´ll transfer you at your hotel, where you´ll have a chance to relax, freshen-up and have dinner, before spending the night.
