Our program invites you to enjoy the best of Peru´s southern coast, while exploring the desert, with the enigmatic Nazca Lines, as you discover its high sand dunes and oasis, along with the beautiful natural landscapes of the Paracas Natural Reserve privileged with a unique wealth of marine life.
- Day 1: Lima – Visit to the Paracas Reserve

Itinerary
Day 1: Lima – Visit to the Paracas Reserve
7:00 a.m.: Departure to the city of Paracas, aboard a Cruz del Sur tourism bus.
10:45 a.m.: Arrival in the city of Paracas, and transfer to the booked hotel.
11:00 a.m.: The Paracas Natural Reserve is an immense protected area located South-west of the city of Pisco. This beautiful site´s name is derived from a Quechua word that means ‘Sand Rain’, probably due to the strong winds that whip through that region, in the afternoons.
Besides, the Paracas Reserve is very important, given that, in its waters, great quantities of zooplankton and phytoplankton lives, which allows numerous fish species to live there, as well as domestic and industrial fishing to prosper. In the course of our visit, we´ll have plenty of chances to contemplate beautiful cliffs, as well as beaches like Playa Roja, Playa Yumaque, Lagunilla, etc.
Along the way, we´ll stop at Playa Lagunilla, where we´ll enjoy some seafood, and will have a refreshing bath. In addition, we´ll sight groups of flamingos, as they feed on the ocean´s shores. In order to better see these beautiful birds, we´ll have to go on a short hike to a small vantage point, from which we´ll be able to observe them from closer up.
Then, you´ll have a chance to visit the natural reserve´s interpretation center, where you´ll discover the Paracas Natural Reserve´s marine flora and fauna. After lunch, you´ll enjoy a free afternoon, and will dine and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 2: Ballestas Islands tour and Trip to Ica
After breakfast at your hotel, at 8:00 a.m., we´ll sail to the Ballestas Islands. Excursion to the Paracas Peninsula and the Peruvian coast´s most important wildlife sanctuary, with a motorized boat ride to the Ballestas Islands, in the Paracas National Reserve, during which we´ll observe sea lions, bobo birds, pelicans, penguins and other marine bird species, and we´ll have some free time, to take pictures of seals and marine birds, before sailing back.
On our way back, we´ll have the opportunity to see the ‘Candlestick’; a giant design, in the Nazca Lines´ style, drawn on a high sand dune.
Return:
11:00 a.m.: Departure to the city of Ica, aboard a Cruz del Sur tourism bus.
12:00 noon: Arrival in the city of Ica, and transfer to the hotel you have booked, and short rest.
In the afternoon, we´ll go on the City Tour of Ica, with the following guided visits: Ica´s Cathedral, some local winemakers´ farms, and the Huacachina Lagoon which is a relaxing resort for Ica´s inhabitants, that looks like an oasis, in the middle of the desert, surrounded by a splendid landscape made-up of high sand dunes, palm trees and ‘huarangos’. Transfer to your hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Nazca Lines and Return to Lima
After breakfast, at the hotel, at 8:45 a.m., departure to the city of Nazca, aboard a Cruz del Sur tourism bus.
10:45 a.m.: Arrival in the city of Nazca, and transfer to the local aerodrome, for the flight over the Nazca Lines, to admire their huge lineal designs, in animal and geometrical shapes, carved in the desert´s floor, that can only be seen from the air.
4:30 p.m.: Departure to the city of Lima, aboard a Cruz del Sur tourism bus.
11:00 p.m.: Arrival in the city of Lima, and transfer to your hotel.
