Over view
Our program invites you to enjoy the best of Peru´s southern coast, while exploring the desert, with the enigmatic Nazca Lines, as you discover its high sand dunes and oasis, along with the beautiful natural landscapes of the Paracas Natural Reserve privileged with a unique wealth of marine life.
- Day 1: Lima – Ica – Huacachina.
- Day 2: Ica – Paracas (Ballestas Islands Tour) and back to Lima.
Itinerary
Day 1: Lima – Ica – Huacachina.
- 6:30 a.m.: Departure, aboard a bus bound to the city of Ica.
- 10:50 a.m.: Arrival in Ica, and transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon, we´ll transfer you to the impressive La Huacachina Oasis, where you´ll have time to stroll around the resort, take pictures and relax. Then, we´ll head towards the northern area of the Ica Desert, where our sand buggies will take you on a thrilling adventure, across the desert, that will last about 2 hours, and in the course of which you´ll have a chance to practice sand-boarding which is similar to snow-boarding, but, on sand.
If you´ve booked that tour, in the afternoon, then, you´ll have the opportunity to witness an impressive sunset over the desert. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2: Ica – Paracas (Ballestas Islands Tour) and back to Lima.
Breakfast at the hotel. Then transfer from your hotel to the Cruz del sur bus station.
10:45am. Departure Ica – Paracas.
11:55 am. Arrival in Paracas, assistance upon arrival and transfer to the El Chaco Dock. Sea-faring tour to the Ballestas Islands, to visit them, during around two hours. In the course of that journey, we´ll have a chance to contemplate the ‘Candlestick’; a gigantic design carved on a high sand dune, in the Paracas Peninsula.
At the Ballestas Islands, you´ll have chances to enjoy a very close look at the local marine fauna, with great colonies of sea lions and seals, on the beaches and rocks. You´ll also observe groups of Humboldt penguins, in small caves, as well as a broad diversity of sea birds, such as cormorants, ‘piqueros’, pelicans, seagulls and tendrils, among others, perched on rock formations, or flying above the Pacific Ocean´s beauty.
16:10 p.m.: Departure to the city of Lima, aboard a Cruz del Sur tourism bus.
20:05 p.m.: Arrival in the city of Lima.
